U8 Coed Team (limited contact)
Under 8 - FUNdamentals of Rugby
The goal of this program is to introduce the fundamental rules of rugby in a safe, small-sided format while leveraging fun games during practice to develop the core skills; Straight line running, basics of passing, continuity of attack, and working as a unit.
This program is a limited contact format primarily focused on 2 hand touch style of match play. We do introduce safe tackling and rucking techniques ONLY in a slow practice environment to begin developing good habits as players age into the older contact teams.
Training starts in early October in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. During the fall, we play non-competitive friendly matches with local teams in a jamboree style to mix and match players from all over Atlanta.
December through February we host weekly competitive matches (excluding holiday weekends)
