Under 14 - Learn to Train

The Under 14 program is where we begin to hone the full development of players in more specific positions/roles. No experience is necessary and there is a place for EVERYONE on our roster.

Focused on:

  • Aerobic/Anaerobic Development

  • Refining position specific skill sets

  • Develop Tactical Awareness across the entire field

U14 Coaches

Coach Mitch Long

Mitch is from the hills of Tennessee and discovered rugby as a freshman at Tennessee Tech University. He played at TTU for 5 seasons, selected for the Midsouth Select team, and then served as assistant coach for another two seasons. Mitch went on to play for Nashville for three years and was a member of the Mid-South men's touring side. He then moved to Atlanta and has played for High Country for over 10 years.

Mitch holds a USA Rugby Referee certification, a USA Rugby Level 1 coaching certification, and is in his 6th season coaching with Golden Eagle Rugby.

Coach Sam began his rugby journey with Atlanta Youth Rugby before continuing at Saint Louis University High School, earning Freshman of the Year, serving as 3x varsity captain, and leading the team to a state championship. He also represented Missouri at the state level, competed with Bombers STL Men's Club, and played with the USA Panthers South U18 program.

He continued his rugby career at the University of Missouri as a player+coach leading the team to two National Collegiate Rugby Championship appearances. Having played every position on the field, Coach Sam brings a well-rounded understanding of the game and a passion to help young athletes build confidence, skills, and a lifelong love for rugby.

Coach Sam Mulcahy

Coach Tyler Warden

Coach Tyler was born and raised in Atlanta and started playing rugby at Indiana University while studying music and business. Now in his second season of coaching Golden Eagle Rugby, Coach Tyler brings over two decades experience coaching youth sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, football, and rugby. He believes strongly in the leadership, respect, discipline and sense of purpose that sports instills. Coach Tyler brings with him a passion not only for the game but also developing players. This year he will focus his expertise on developing the Golden Eagles U14 Team.
