High School 15s

The Golden Eagle High School 15s Season is our primary competitive rugby season. It is a separate program from our Fall 7s season and is designed around the full 15-a-side game.

November – December | Winter Training

Beginning in November, Golden Eagle shifts focus away from HS Fall 7s to prepare for the upcoming 15s season; our Winter Training.

Winter Training focuses on developing the skills and systems required for full-field rugby. Athletes work on passing and handling, contact skills, breakdowns, kicking, position-specific techniques, attacking and defensive systems, set piece, decision-making, and game management.

Athletes also build the strength, speed, conditioning, and durability needed for the demands of a full 15s season.

Winter Training provides the opportunity to bring players together, establish team systems, and prepare athletes to enter the competitive season ready to play as a cohesive team.

January – May | The Main 15s Season

The 15s season is the centerpiece of Golden Eagle's high school rugby program. From January through May, athletes train and compete in the traditional 15-a-side format against teams from Georgia and surrounding states.

The full-field game requires players to understand much more than their individual position. Athletes develop their ability to read the game, make decisions under pressure, communicate with teammates, execute attacking and defensive systems, and manage the game as a team.

Our U16 Junior Varsity and U19 Varsity programs provide an appropriate competitive environment for developing and experienced athletes alike, with an emphasis on continued player development and meaningful competition.
